Since the very memorable "Saransh", directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Anupam Kher has enacted a variety of roles convincingly over the years.

Each time he would try to change his look, dialogue delivery and body language in order to match the character he is playing. No wonder, he has a huge fan following, both in India and abroad.

The "Bend it like Beckham" and "Bride and Prejudice" actor will be soon be seen in yet another international venture "The Other End of the Line", produced by the renowned Ashok Amritraj.

Amritraj had earlier given Hollywood films like "Premonition", "Dreamer", "Shop Girl", "Bringing Down the House", "Raging Helen" and "Moonlight Mile".

The USP of Amritraj's latest venture is that there are more Indian actors in the film like Shreya Saran and Tara Sharma. The film is the first one sponsored by Fame Adlabs to be shown in front of international audiences.

Anupam says about the film: "The story of the film was read to me about three years ago. It was coincidence that I was given the role of the character I liked best in the story."

Comedy being his forte, this film will also see Anupam sticking to his comic capers. "This is a romantic comedy. I am playing Shreya's father, a jolly fellow, in the film."

Earlier too, the actor had portrayed the character of Shreya's father in a film titled "Shukriya". So what is the difference between the two characters?.

"The difference is that in "Shukriya" I was an intelligent man, but it is not so in this film," he quips. Although Anupam looks like a serious guy, his wisecreacks often leave others in splits.

The actor said about his new film: "This project is very important to me because this film depicts today's India. It doesn't dwell only on our country's poverty and problems only."

Before the release of any of his films, Anupam is always optimistic. That's because be it any character, Anupam always has an eye for detail and puts in lots of research. He says about the film: "This time, it was not me but the film-maker who has done thorough research.

All the credit goes to the viewers as they are intelligent and demand quality films. These days people outright reject films which do not show reality." - Rajnee Gupta
